Welcome to a world where love and friendship create the strongest of spells, and where an adventure can be found beyond every twist and turn. A world where all kinds of creatures find themselves in situations of a positively ludicrous nature, day after day, even! In such a world, where "normal" is relative, and mundane is anything but; what sort of journey will you find yourself on today?

We are currently accepting Canon Character applications! A list of available characters can be found here, the thread to "claim" a character can be found here, and the audition thread itself can be found here.

Congratulations to JM95 for winning the role of Spike the Dragon, although this turn of events also means that he has voluntarily given up the role of Cheese Sandwich, putting him up for grabs along with all of the other available Canon Character roles.

As a reminder, if there are at least TWO auditions for the same character, a poll will be held within three days of the last audition made for that character. Additional auditions will be accepted at that time, but the deadline will not be extended. In three days after the poll has been started, the votes will be counted, and the winner will be announced, as with the old method.

To those of you that play Canon Characters: It is encouraged that you play your Canon Characters as often as you can, within reason. The JAE staff realizes that it can be more difficult to play certain characters in a day to day situation than others, (Such as one of the Princesses, in comparison to say... Pinkie Pie.) so in some cases, leniency is exercised. Still, it never hurts to make a thread that involves a character, that for once, doesn't involve the fate of Equestria hanging in the balance.

Journeys Across Equestria is a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Roleplay Forum set five years after the show. A 100 word count minimum for posts is enforced for all In-Character posts.

Amaterasu breathed a short sigh. There it was, Canterlot in all its beauty and splendor. The white shining city inspired feelings of pride and how in a pony. It was their capital, the crown jewel of all Equestria. Yet for him, as beautiful as this city had always inspired as much uncertainty as it had awe. Every time he saw it's beauty a small part of him felt apprehensive and ashamed. As if he didn't belong in such a place.

The young colt quickly buried that emotion. It was useless at best and his enemy a t worst. When he'd put Canterlot behind him two years ago he wasn't sure if or when he'd be returning, and he was only here now because he believed it was crucial to be. it wasn't a decision he'd made lightly, or one he was entirely glad he'd made, but once Amaterasu made a choice he committed to it. There was no path back, only forward, like the sun across the sky.

Amaterasu ducked into an alleyway and watched as a guard patrol moved by. He was avoiding the sight of the Equestrian guard. While he doubted he was wanted for any crimes, having been gone for the last two years and in good legal standing before that, but it had been a hobby of hiss since he was young. it allowed him to test just how good the security of the city really was, not to mention it meant he could come and go as he pleased. Certain parties he knew were connected to the guard, and he'd rather reveal his presence at the time and place of his own choosing, not before. Besides, this method of travel often meant he was secluded and had time to think, something Amaterasu had valued since his youth.
Amaterasu ran toward the wall of a building and quickly sprung off of it, propelling himself up and toward the other alley wall. Another quick spring sent him soaring further toward the rooftops and he allowed himself a small smile. While he'd been discouraged from doing too much combat training at the temple he'd been staying at, he'd still gotten the chance to hone a few skills. It was nice to see his abilities had not diminished to mu-

The colt made a small misstep and slipped against one of the walls beginning to fall. He felt a small pang of panic before creating a rod of hard light between to two buildings and grasped it with his claws. He flipped around the bar quickly before launching himself back up and onto one of the rooftops, coming to a graceful landing. Alright, so his skills weren't gone, but they could certainly use a bit of honing. Amaterasu took a deep calm breath as he looked out over the city. Even if it didn't feel that way at times, this place was his home and he'd give anything to protect it. That's why this feeling of uncertainty...the unease that gnawed at him as he looked over the capital worried him even more.
