Welcome to a world where love and friendship create the strongest of spells, and where an adventure can be found beyond every twist and turn. A world where all kinds of creatures find themselves in situations of a positively ludicrous nature, day after day, even! In such a world, where "normal" is relative, and mundane is anything but; what sort of journey will you find yourself on today?

• • •

Starting on the In-character date of Mid-June 2019, Journeys Across Equestria's first "Post Reboot" Story Arc will begin. When the latest Lunar Eclipse refuses to pass, Luna and Celestia find themselves cut off from the Moon and Realm of Dreams! Meanwhile, children everywhere are suddenly and inexplicably falling into a deep magical slumber, where they are tormented by terrible nightmares! Who, or what could possibly be responsible?!

To learn more about this upcoming event, please visit the Blood Moon Information and General Discussion thread in the Inn. If you want one or more of your characters to participate in this event, let us know here! The cutoff date for players who wish to participate in this event is May 11th, 2014.

We are currently accepting Canon Character applications! A list of available characters can be found here, the thread to "claim" a character can be found here, and the audition thread itself can be found here.

Congratulations to JM95 for winning the role of Spike the Dragon, although this turn of events also means that he has voluntarily given up the role of Cheese Sandwich, putting him up for grabs along with all of the other available Canon Character roles.

As a reminder, if there are at least TWO auditions for the same character, a poll will be held within three days of the last audition made for that character. Additional auditions will be accepted at that time, but the deadline will not be extended. In three days after the poll has been started, the votes will be counted, and the winner will be announced, as with the old method.

To those of you that play Canon Characters: It is encouraged that you play your Canon Characters as often as you can, within reason. The JAE staff realizes that it can be more difficult to play certain characters in a day to day situation than others, (Such as one of the Princesses, in comparison to say... Pinkie Pie.) so in some cases, leniency is exercised. Still, it never hurts to make a thread that involves a character, that for once, doesn't involve the fate of Equestria hanging in the balance.

Journeys Across Equestria is a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Roleplay Forum set five years after the show. A 100 word count minimum for posts is enforced for all In-Character posts.

Legacy had taken the day off from work, feeling a bit sore as often as the foal or foals were kicking. She had sent the message through her bracelet that she was staying home for the day. Honestly she wouldn't be surprised if the thing or things growing in her stomach came today. And when the labor pains began, she was starting to regret the fact she hadn't heeded that instinct and already headed towards a hospital. She rolled out of bed and out of the house and pushed a few buttons on her bracelet to tell Frozen waht was going on.

She couldn't relay a complex message like she was having the baby or babies now, but she did say that it was a semi-emergency. He'd probably be able to figure out that it was the foals coming. They'd been kicking for awhile now. And MAN was she looking forward to getting these little demons out! They hurt like a bitch.

Frozen got the message from Legacy and knew what to do. He could only hope that she would go along with it. He looked over to one of his most trustworthy grunts, who he'd been tossing around the idea of a promotion for.

"How would you like to get a promotion, kid? I gotta big job for you. Get you're ass to the hospital and tell them we have a mare in labor on her way. We should be there maybe 5, 10 minutes tops after you get there." With those words, Frozen left the young stallion to go and do his job. He had to go get Legacy. Her house was on the other side of town... But so was the hospital. So at least that worked out. He saw the stallion flying over him, and Frozen couldn't help but smile. He'd chosen the right guy for the job...

It took Frozen about 5 minutes to get to Legacy's house, and he let himself in quickly.

She was nowhere to be found.
"Crap, she must already be on her way to the hospital!" Frozen quickly shut the front door and made sure it was locked before rushing out the backdoor. Getting back onto the street the first pony he saw was Legacy.

"Legacy! Over here!"

Legacy looked behind her and smiled a little, a smile which faltered as another labor pang hit her. Celestia in a biscuit this hurt. She hoped everything would be alright. She had seen the concern on her doctor's face when she told them that the foal's father was a griffon. She knew he'd come. Legacy couldn't have been happier. "M-Morning Froz-en."

"Okay we need to get you to the hospital fast! You sound like it really hurts... " Frozen didn't want to get into the childbirth pain argument, not at a time like this...

The hospital was 5 minutes away, and how she sounded it might be best if she did as little rushing towards the hospital as possible.

"Okay Legacy, I don't know if you're gonna like this but this is all I got right now!" Frozen levitated a random wheel barrel over to them,and before he knew it Frozen was lifting Legacy into the cheap form of transportation. Then he started mystically holding it up while spinning the wheels towards the hospital. Then he started pushing at the same time.

"This is the fastest way to the hospital. I hope it isn't too much trouble, Legacy."

Legacy was by no means going to argue about how much it was hurting for her. She didn't feel like arguing right now when talking was hard enough. The thought hadn't even occurred to her really. Her legs flailed for a moment in panic as she was lifted into the air, then settled as she was put into a barrel. Ah. She should have figured this was coming ever since she had put him into a barrel. "We're taking the first taxi we find!" Legacy shouted as her rebuttal. This was not comfortable in the least, and a taxi, particularly one with a pegasus at the helm, would be faster.

Frozen was halfway to the hospital before he had to stop pushing with magic and went with pure physical force alone.

"We're halfway there, can you hold out for a while longer? I know this is uncomfortable, but it's faster than walking." It as true, but what he didn't want to say was that he could've flagged down two taxi's that he saw, taxi's that from Legacy's angle she couldn't have seen. But he didn't.

The hospital was just over this next hill. Why was the hospital on the hill? Right when he had to use all his physical force.

Celestia Damn this hill.

"Legacy, I can see the hospital, it's at the top of this hill. I just hope that I can push you up there without passing out. I might be strong, but I'm no Bulk Biceps. Wish me luck." Frozen started pushing with all his power, as the wheel barrel started to move up the hill.

"You're gonna need it if you don't get up this hill!" Shouted Legacy at him, flailing a hoof in the air to empathize her point. "Push!" Were she not in extreme pain right now she would have realized the humor in telling the stallion to push when it was she who was in labor. Was it supposed to hurt this much? The doctor had assured her that most birthings went smoothly. But... Her pregnancy wasn't exactly the norm... Shit.

Halfway up Frozen started to breathe a bit heavier than normal. He was going to do this damnit, Legacy was not going to give birth to her kid on a god damn hill outside the one god damn hospital until Canterlot. It'd been around maybe 10 minutes since he left, and he was worried what they would say to the guy now that they were running behind. He never let down somebody as bad as he was about to let him down by failing his end of the deal.

They looked up to Frozen, he was a model of a sense to the Blood Dragons. He could not fail now. With his last bit of strength Frozen pushed the wheel barrel up the hill and through the door.

"One pregnant mare, right on schedule!" Frozen laid on the ground outside.

"I'll be a minute, just gotta rest..."

Legacy felt herself being lifted out of the wheel barrow and put into a wheel chair almost the very instant she got into the hospital. She lolled behind her as she was being rolled away, a sickening sense of foreboding building in her as another pang hit her.

The doctors had Legacy halfway down the hall when Frozen rushed in. He saw his guy he sent ahead down the hall, and he rushed over to him.

"You did good, get back home and I'll meet you there with your new job details after this." Before he could respond Frozen rushed ahead to meet with Legacy and the Doctors.

"I'm here Legacy, how are you doing? Before you ask I'm fine, I just needed a few seconds to rest..."

Legacy hadn't been about to ask personally. But she was happy to see him by her side. Always there when she needed him. That's why he was her best friend in the entire world, for sure. "It hurts!" Squealed Legacy, then glaring at the doctor beside her. "Don't you guys have any pain killer magic here?!"

One of the nurses looked super concerned about her asking, and her horn lit up to ease the pain.

Frozen looked at the nurse who was using the Painkiller Spell on Legacy. "Thank you, nurse. How far are we from the room, she isn't going to last much longer in this wheelchair, and I don't think you want to have a kid in the middle of this hallway, do you?" Frozen came off as edgy and irritated, but he was really just worried. He wanted Legacy to go through this with minimal pain, which the nurse was helping right now, but this wasn't going to be pretty if they didn't get her into a room.

Frozen was really worried about Legacy though. There was basically a 100% chance that the father was Brannskada. An almost immortal fire Griffon. He didn't even want to know how they managed to have sex, but he was more worried about how she was going to birth this abomination of a creature. Thinking about it, the correct term for a Griffon-Pony hybrid was a 'Hippogriff'.

"Sorry, he can't come past this point." Said the nurse, gently stopping Legacy before she could grab Frozen's hoof. If it were any normal birth, maybe. But this wasn't going to be normal, and complications were likely to arise. Honestly they'd never even delivered a hippogriff before, and that was most likely what the child, or children, would be.

Legacy quickly felt herself becoming more and more numb as the process went on, thanks to the spells of the nurses around her. The process went… Worse than the nurses anticipated, and they soon found that LEgacy was slipping… Slipping… And gone.

~~~~~~~~~~
Legacy awoke in a place different from where she'd been before. A place she had been before. It was tunnel with a light at the end of it. Last time she had been here she had walked away from the light, and had become a windigo.
A pony appeared beside her, a black one with a scythe for a cutiemark. The same one as last time. He took a few steps forward and looked back for Legacy. "You coming this time?" Last time he had only appeared after she started running away from the light.
Legacy… Actually wasn't sure. If she went back. Surely all she'd be going back to was a ghostly existence. Was that all that bad?
"You know you don't really want to be a ghost again. You don't belong on that plane any more, you belong here."
Legacy gave a little start, startled that the… Well if she were to guess what it was, it would be a reaper. "Why should I go when the light is probably hell fire?" Legacy retorted, turning away from the light.
"You really underestimate people Legacy. And their capacity for forgiveness." Said the Reaper.
Legacy looked back at the Reaper. "No, I think I estimate them quite properly. Let alone whoever you represent." Last time she had met this guy he had made it quite clear he was not THE Grim Reaper, just a Reaper. Legacy had heard plenty of myths about what lay after death. There were beings who could see all, who judged all. And Legacy knew, that if anyone could judge her, they would judge her fairly.
And that would mean whatever the afterlife had for her, it would not be pleasant. It looked like heaven's light. But with as powerful as she had read them to be… A simple illusion like that would be easy.
Legacy felt… Different. As she looked up from the ground she saw where her body was, the nurses around her trying all they could. "Even if I did go to heave, it wouldn't mean anything without Frozen."
"Frozen? You'll mess up things with him just as you did with Brannskada." Retorted the Reaper, trying to pull Legacy back towards the light.
"I didn't ruin that. He did."
The Reaper padded around so that he was face to face with Legacy, in her way to the realm of the living. She might not know it, but he did. At this point, if she so choose. She could go back. And not just as a ghost, as a living person. He couldn't have that. Not after having let her slip from death's clutches once already. To have it happen twice would be ludicrous. She of all people had gotten a second chance, he had seen thousands more who had deserved it more and hadn't gotten it.
If she went back this would be the third chance. And something in The Reaper's mind couldn't stand that. "You can't blame him entirely. You were partially to blame too. You should just come with me. Before you do any more damage." He offered his hoof out to Legacy.
Legacy glared down at it. She hadn't even seen her foals yet. She couldn't not go back there. Frozen was waiting for her down there too! Legacy pushed aside the Reaper as she continued walking towards Equestria. When she felt the Reaper's hoof on her shoulder she acted on reflex and punched him, then ran the buck out.
The Reaper stared after her retreating form, nursing the eye Legacy had just punched. Smart move n her part, if the Reaper had had his way, she wouldn't have been able to go back.
"This isn't over. Legacy." The words lingered in her mind as she came back with a start, the nurses breathing a sigh of relief at having brought her back. That wasn't saying HOW they brought her back was nesscarily legal… But when it came to healing it was a fine fine line between healing and life magic. One that once crossed, they weren't exactly going to rat each other out for.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Get him in here, get Frozen in here now!" Legacy started squirming almost the moment she had awoken. In seeing that she could not see the foal, she decided that she'd rather she and him see the foal for the first time together. It'd be more special that way any how.

"Wait. Wait just a moment. Lets just get you cleaned up first!" The nurse whinnied, startled by the fact that Legacy was even alive. "Wait wait." Legacy whispered as she saw one of the nurses reach into a crib where hide assumed the foal was in. "Just wait a second, I want us to see the foal together." The nurse put the foal

It took a few moments, after which one of the nurse's opened the door to let Frozen in. The whole process had probably taken quite a long time, but Yew was't willing to put a time on it since she wasn't sure what a good time would be.

Frozen was glad they finally let him in. They kept him outside so long, he wasn't sure what he was going to find when they let him in. He was glad to see a safe Legacy, if almost a bit pale...

"Legacy, I'm glad to see having the baby didn't kill you. Especially this kind of baby." He tried his hardest to imply what he already knew. Some bizarre cross between a fiery bird lion asshole and Legacy. But it was still Legacy's kid, Frozen wouldn't let who was the kid's genetic father get in the way of whatever would happen now.

What was the cross between a griffon and a pony? Had it ever even been done before today? Surely it had to have happened before... Right?

"Actually. She was officially dead for about ten seconds." Said one of the nurses, wincing a little. Were she not legally obligated to tell them she wouldn't to be honest, she was amazed that Legacy was with them really. "And there's two of them." The nurse lifted one of the… Things out of the crib and handed it to Legacy. A duck hippogriff. She then lifted the other one out of the crib and offered it to Frozen.

"I… I don't even… Know." Legacy was stunned.
